Care For Your Muir

Our care guides will help you know how to look after your MUIR products, so you can continue to experience their benefits and ensure their longevity.

Our guides are by product group.

SHEETING and DUVET COVERS

Always follow the recommended care instructions. In general sheets and duvet covers should always be separated from your general laundry and washed separately, further separating light colours from dark. Sheets and duvet covers wash better when not overcrowded, so make sure you do not overload the machine.

Avoid bleach and peroxide. Optical brighteners can be safely used on whites but may cause colours to fade or become uneven.

If possible, line dry your sheets out of direct sunlight. If tumble drying, follow the specific instructions on the care label, dry in small loads on a low to medium setting. Do not overdry, and remove promptly to reduce creasing.

For ironing it’s best to do so while they’re still slightly damp and on the reverse side. If they have completely dried, re-damp them with a water spray. Avoid ironing embroidered areas directly.

To lengthen the life of your fitted sheets rotate them each time you re-make the bed. So the wear is evenly distributed.

To help to refresh your sheets aim to change and launder them once per week, having multiple sets available so you can always have one set on and one set off at a time.

TOWELS

MUIR towels and bathrobes can be washed and tumble dried. Following the correct care instructions you can keep them feeling soft and fluffy for longer.

Towels and bathrobes should be washed frequently, always separate light and dark colours, and do not overload the machine.

Avoid bleach and peroxide. Optical brighteners can safely be used on whites, but can cause other colours to fade or become uneven.

Fabric softeners are not recommended as they can produce a waxy build up that reduces the fibres ability to absorb water and the towels function.

While line drying is suitable for towels and bathrobes, they become fluffier when tumble dried. In small load for under 20mins, on low to medium setting. Remove and fold when cycle is completed.

Ironing is not required for towels and bathrobes, they should just be folded or hung up once dry.

BEDSPREADS and CUSHIONS

Always follow the care instructions, and we recommend ironing on the reverse of the bedspreads and other quilted items, and only if needed.

Remove cushion inners carefully before washing the covers, easing out the inner slowly and carefully.
